Austin C. Ferris is an attorney practicing law in Northern Illinois, including Lake, Cook, and DuPage Counties.
Austin graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Political Science and studied Small Business Management at the Henry B. Tippie School of Business, earning a certificate of entrepreneurial management.
He then went on to attend The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, earning his Juris Doctor (JD) in 2016. During law school he interned at The John Marshall Fair Housing Legal Support Clinic which gave him exposure to employment and housing law for low-income individuals.
After receiving his license to practice law in Illinois, he worked for the Law Offices of Ferris, Thompson, & Zweig, practicing personal injury and criminal defense law. During his time here, he was able to assist on an Illinois Supreme Court case, in which the firm was ultimately victorious; Ferris, Thompson, & Zweig LTD. v. Esposito (2016).
Mr. Ferris then joined one of the largest insurance companies in the United States, GEICO, as a staff attorney, aggressively recovering damages paid out when the other party was at fault. It was here that his trial and litigation skills were put to the test, acting as first chair for over 20 jury trials and over 200 arbitration hearings on behalf of his insured clients.
